happy happy wednesday
i have something special for you…a giveaway and not just any giveaway ladies and gents…
a pure foods bar created by dancer’s?! it’s a match made in heaven! both of my favorite things all smashed into one. let me tell you a little about this great company.
it was started by two professional dancers with a need to create a healthy energy bar that supported them in rigorous class and rehearsals! Aaron and Julia were concerned about the amount of sketchy ingredients in many energy bars available these days so julia jumped into the kitchen and created something simple and delicious! i am sure glad she did because they are TASTY! i have discussed SO MANY TIMES the dangers of not knowing what you are eating and how important reading labels is. we are super lucky that people these days are also concerned and creating quality products!
in the words of aaron & julia, “As professional dancers, nothing’s more important to us than nutrition. But just reading the labels on most energy bars is enough to throw us off balance! So we traded our leotards for aprons and whipped up something of our own: a real food bar, made with wholesome, all-natural ingredients–stuff you can actually pronounce! Barre helps us maintain the peak level of performance necessary for ballet’s unique marriage of artistry and athleticism. And now it’s time for us to raise the curtain and share our creation with you!” you can read the whole story here and learn a little more about julia and aaron.
barre was gracious enough to send me some samples to try! ballerina spirulina, pirouette cinnamon pecan, and black swan chocolate berry! remember when i talked about the benefits of spirulina? well stick it in a protein bar and it’s heaven! we all know spirulina is a great source of energy so why not put it in a little energy bar?! the black swan chocolate berry had a little zing with the berry taste and i loved that mixed with the chocolate. overal i am hooked! i need to get my local good earth selling these asap!
here is why you need some barre in your life:)
- 100% natural
- a great source of protein and fiber
- come in at just around 200 calories
- unprocessed (love this!!!)
- raw ingredients
- vegan
- natural electrolyte replacement
- free of common allergens: dairy, wheat, and soy
- a portion of the proceeds benefits arts education
my favorite was the pirouette cinnamon pecan! delish! i was nervous about the taste because some of the natural bars i have tried are rough but i was pleasantly surprised! i always find my self at work around 2 o’clock struggling and it was the perfect snack! i also grabbed one on my way to crossfit for some quick energy and it was great. light, sustaining, and pure!
so now is your chance to get your hands on some! barre has been so gracious to send one lucky reader their very own barre bars (say that 5 times fast!) so here is how you enter! please leave a separate comment for each entry!
