The Secret of Self-Confidence and Overcoming Fear

This morning I got up and checked my email as I usually do and found my daily TinyBuddha.com inspiration tidbit.  Some days I take a quick glance at it and store it in my “Inspiration” email folder but today was one email I needed.  The article was titled “The Secret to Instant Self Confidence”.  As I started to read I learned about myself and what triggers my highs, lows, positivity, and negativity.  I learned that I have a choice to challenge those triggers.  Now those triggers could be anything such as, friends, foods, mirrors, success, media and so on.  The list could go on forever! The important thing to notice about a trigger is if it is a positive one or a negative trigger.  Remember the positive ones and seek to surround yourself with those daily.  It may be a smile from a friend or a morning walk.  The article also made another good point.  “You may be awfully confident about the fact that you lack confidence”.  Isn’t that true sometimes? I find myself so confident about lacking self confident.  Imagine if I can make that small change what that would do for me and those around me! We cannot live in fear of our self confidence or changing those triggers that suppress it.  We want to feel good.  We want succes.  So why not have it? The power of overcoming fear is there so use it! The article is awesome and has some really great tips and strategies to help with self confidence and fear.

If you have a chance go check out the article!

Now…something has been on my mind the last couple of days and I’ve been asking around to see what others think. WHAT IS THE DEAL WITH FRUIT…as you know I have been reading “Eat To Live” and it is a plant based diet full of fruits and veggies…but then I hear from others, media, and friends that fruit is sugar and is bad? what?! ok I agree that too much of anything is bad but I’m not so sure about fruit being a cause of weight gain.  It is different for every individual and so far a couple of servings of fruit a day have been good to me but I don’t want to get carried away with fruit and regret it later.  I do understand that sugar is still sugar and I shouldn’t be eating fruit bowls for every meal but i need some balance. Life is too short to be concerend about fruit consumption so dont get me wrong. This isnt a life or death situation but I’d like to hear your thoughts! Just veggies and grains is not enough for a healthy diet…so if anyone of you out there have some fruit tips or found that a certain amount works for you please share!

xoxo

what a great inspiration to get the day right… I will definetly be checking out the article. And you are so right about being confident with lack of confidence…that is me. I struggle with self confidence, and love getting reminders like this, so thank you! Good self esteem is so important.

now for your fruit, I know I emailed you back about it, but wanted to say yes life is to short to worry about fruit. Everyone will have different opinions on how much is too much, but eat what you like and your body likes!

      Hey Twins!

Dailybuddha has some really great stuff! you can subscribe and get a short email daily with a good message. I totally struggle with self confidence and I think its due to past food issues so I’m hoping these reminders will help me stay on track!

I got your email and thank you for getting back to me! your tips really help. I’m going to try and do a little experiment and see how I do with less fruit and vice versa. Thanks for commenting on the site!
