Fitness Review

Hey friends!

I wanted to talk a little bit about fitness today.  I don’t know about you, but I get bored with the same ol’ fitness routine and find I have to switch it up often.  Ashley ( a D&M cast mate) suggested I give Las Vegas Ballet Barre a try.  I had done Cardio Barre in LA before and I was curious if it was the same deal.  Don’t get confused or worried, it isn’t anything like a real ballet class so don’t be afraid:)  So I bought the new student week unlimited pass and decided to do it.  I’m going to be totally honest…It wasn’t the Cardio workout I had hoped for, it was more like a Pilate’s class but my legs and abs were on fire the whole time.  I was using muscle’s I wasn’t used to so my body was tightening up in the worst places.  I think that’s why I wasn’t in love with the class.  I could feel my hips getting tighter the whole time and those aren’t easy to loosen up.  I did enjoy using the super light weights for arms but exhausting them with a ton of reps.  Ballet Barre would be a great way to tone and sculpt your body but not great for weight loss:) So overall, it was great for my muscles but I think I will stick with Yoga after my week pass runs out.  I find that Yoga is essential for building long lean muscle and its good for my soul.

Fitness is so individual and it takes experimenting to find what is the best for your build, and body type.  I’ve always admired runners but my joints won’t allow me to so I find cardio other ways:) Don’t be afraid to shake it up, try something new, and figure out what works best!

Now for the food:)

I had a delicious green salad filled with veggies and a little quinoa salad for lunch today!

Raw Carob Pie
Let’s just say that I found this little gem of a dessert and devoured it! The only ingredients were avocados, dates, carob powder, walnuts, sunflower seeds, and agave. I want to learn how to make this! I wish I had a full bakery and could just make raw food all day!
what type of fitness works for you?
Do you enjoy raw dessert?
xoxo

Hey Jessie! It’s Shea Moon. So I have been reading up your blog and love it! My mom is obsessed with the raw food diet, and I’ve just started getting into it on my own and am so excited! Unfortunately, some refined foods still sneak their way into my low-budget college diet:) But I’ve loved reading about your recipes and fitness programs! My mom loves Pure2raw as well! As far as the cardio stuff goes, I love to run, but have found that it is starting to hurt me more and more, so your elliptical workouts have been great too. Anyway, this was kind of random, but you’re helping to inspire me so I thought I would let you know:)

Shea! It has been a very long time since I Have seen you! I hope things are going well for you! are you in Utah? I’m so glad your mom found Pure2Raw as well. They are such an inspiration and I hope someday my blog can do the same! Thank you for posting, it means a lot to have people read what I feel passionate about. Now, i’m not 100% raw either and the occasional pop corn and what not sneaks in but its mainly about gaining the knowledge of what we are putting into our bodies. I agree that some products are too expensive but I just try to find the best option of the less expensive stuff:) if only I had all the money in the world! I’d spend it on raw food ingredients! ha! I’m so glad you are giving it a shot! Ive loved how my body feels since making the change and there is no going back! Keep in touch! I’d love to hear more from you!

      xoxo

Ya, I am in Utah. I’m in Provo right now just working and then I will start school back up in the fall. And I have no doubt that your blog will keep having a big influence! I love reading it! So did you just buy Eat to Live off the internet? Or at a store? I want to get more into the raw food diet, but I have a feeling that it will be a slow process for me:) It’s fun to hear about some of the same things from you and my mom. Oh and by the way, I never said congratulations to you and carson, but that is so great! Does he eat raw things like you? Have a great day! Can’t wait to hear more!

          Hey Shea,
I’m glad to hear that things are going so well in provo! I ordered Eat to Live off of amazon:) super easy and pretty cheap! Im not 100% raw either, but when I do cook or bake I just make sure to use good ingrediants, mostly gluten free! I’m excited that your mom is into this! i’ll have to chat with her someday haha but thank you for the congrats! marriage is crazy and so much fun. I haven’t convinced him yet to eat like me:) its a little harder to make the change when his body stays the same no matter what he eats:) I try to cook a healthier version of what he likes and then my meals are always different, but he’s not a huge fan of a green salad so maybe someday I can convert him! i’m crossing my fingers!
