The Not-So Perfect Christmas This Year

Hey Friends!

Happy Friday and happy day before Christmas Eve! I can’t believe how fast it has crept up on us this year but I’m so excited to see family this year!

This Christmas season has been a bit different and far from perfect…

My legs may fall off due to my hips and lower back hating me.

No snow here in Chi Town after purchasing expensive winter gear in fear of freezing! (never can be too prepared)

No stockings, ornaments, or trees in sight.

A flight on Christmas Eve.

I began listing all these things this morning until I realized one very important thing.  When has Christmas ever been the perfect day? The first Christmas was in the humblest of beginnings and celebrated the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ.  I can only imagine the circumstances in which he came.  The faith, patience, and simple joy Mary must have felt when the Savior came into the world.  He is Christmas.  I came across this video this morning and I wanted to share it with all of you.

A beautiful message to remember this Christmas.  “Wise Men still seek Him”.  Am I doing my part in remembering and honoring the Savior this year? I know I can do more to help those around me but I enjoyed this reminder that Christmas is not in the tree, ornaments, or stockings.  It is not in the wrapping paper, cookies, or toys but it is in remembering our Savior and his birth.  “Give unto others as Christ would have you give.  Remember the season and echo the reason for his miraculous birth.”

I’m signing off the next couple of days to enjoy my Christmas! I wish you all a Merry Christmas with lots of love and light!

xoxo
