Those days the sugar seems to be everywhere…

Hey friends!

It’s Friday! Wow this week has flown by and it’s been good to be in Utah with Carson.  I’ve taken advantage of class at the dance studio I grew up in and tried my best to get back into training again.  Feels great to be in a studio taking class!  I’ve also taken advantage of Ballet Blast as well.  I taught the class the other night and took the class this morning.  Seriously kicks my butt every time! I’m telling ya Utah peeps, get your butts there! They have a ton of locations and its a fun way to kick those calories!

Now, lets chat a little bit.  It has been one of those days over here at the James house where my new years resolutions slipped a little.  Maybe I’m alone in this, but the sugar and the sweets seem to be everywhere I turn! Do you ever have those days when after eating you aren’t satisfied and would eat the counter top if you could?  Ok, maybe not that crazy but I’ve been munchie maggee!

The trick to these days is the head and not letting it take you down.  Something I am working on and actually is one of my goals this year.  I wish I could give you a step by step battle against the goodies but I haven’t quite mastered that yet.  I can tell you that you CANNOT let yourself get in your head.  Be patient and remind yourself that 99% of the time you are doing great with healthy choices.  We are human and weakness strikes at the worst times but it is our decision how we let if effect us as well as our day.  I’m going to take a spoonful of my own medicine and decide right now to focus on other important things and make conscious health choices for the rest of the day.

Tonight I get the opportunity to work with Odyssey 2 for a new piece I was asked to choreograph.  I’m looking forward to and evening of inspiration and beautiful dancers! I’m off to get prepared!

Do you battle with the goodies? What are your tactics to beating the munchies?

xoxo

I totally battle with the munchies, especially after the holidays, but I have always tried to follow tips that I read in “Intuitive Eating”. They talk about listening to our bodies and occasionally it is ok to splurge and have something decadent. I just try and remember that the more I tell myself that I cannot have something, the more I want it, so when I want brownies I make some take one for me and one for my hubby and then give the rest to friends and neighbors. Or I make a single serving of something instead of 48 cookies. I think it’s important to give ourselves a treat sometimes, especially when we work so dang hard!
I have also found recipes for things that are sweet, but also beneficial. Like a recipe I found on Pinterest for energy bars. They are totally delish, but packed with protein and fiber.
That’s how I battle my munchie cravings. Thanks for being wonderful.
    Hugs!
