Mechanically Separated…Should you really be eating that?

Hey friends!

Today I was reading some of my favorite blogs and came across some shocking news! If you have a quick second, check out Mama Pea at Peas and Thank you! She has a fabulous blog and the best recipes! She posted about chicken noodle soup today and it was so informative!

After reading her post, I began thinking more about labels.  I have always been good about reading labels and being careful what is in each product I buy.  I am a huge advocate of eliminating processed foods, but I know that can be tough and I still eat a few here and there, but reading Mama Peas post today really reminded me to watch out!

Look at this…

That is mechanically separated chicken and currently in your friendly can of Chicken Noodle Soup. Yuck!!!! I can’t believe that! It makes me wonder what other sketchy ingredients are lurking in our foods! If that doesn’t make you want to re think what meats you eat, I don’t know what will! It’s a good reminder to read labels carefully and find out exactly what we are feeding ourselves as well as our families!

Disgusting!!

Now here is a little fitness for the day.  I found these workouts over the weekend and you must give them a try! They are killer!!! Take those for a spin and let me know how it goes! Now for a little update on the Vegas life..

I feel extra blessed today.  Yesterday was my first day officially in Vegas with out Carson.  Lets face the facts.  Carson and I had a long distance engagement and I am always traveling with the show so we are good friends with long distance and this isn’t anything new.  But, it feels a little different knowing he actually lives somewhere else during the week.  I worried about him and if he would eat, get to school ok, or get lonely.  I reminded myself that Carson is a grown man and has survived with out me for 21 years but being the new wife I am, I get worried about him.  I also worried about myself.  He has been the best remedy for my sometimes crazy head when it comes to food and fitness.  God put him in my life at the perfect time and he’s a good remedy for the craziness:) I expressed my concerns to Carson before he left and shed a few tears about it but god has been good.

Yesterday I felt confident, happy, and secure.  I knew someone was watching over me and I felt peace.  Remmie has been the best little companion to come home to and I think we are going to be best buds. This year will be an adventure and I’m ready for it to begin!

xoxo
