We stumbled upon a flee market tucked against the canals and I loved this sweet man just enjoying his life while people pass by. He sold knick knacks and old antique objects reminding me of the old man from that pixar short film? Ya know, the one with the old man playing chess?  I picture him sitting down with a cup of fresh mint tea to play a game of chess with a life long friend.

Katia and I wandered into this EXACT carnival 7 years ago while we were back packing together. It was the craziest thing to find it in the exact same place and buy the exact same cotton candy! It was magical!

If you can’t tell from that beaming smile on my face, I LOVE everything about Amsterdam. I learned that Amsterdam is actually below sea level and the Dutch created the canal system to build the city. They haven’t had a massive flood in years (maybe we could learn a thing or two about that in the US) and some people live on them! We walked past numerous house boats that made us envious and stopped  to stare a few mins too long. What a life that would be. Can you imagine it? Sipping tea while enjoying a book on your adorable house boat. YES PLEASE!! Forget retiring in some nice house somewhere, I want a house boat in Amsterdam!
